sncj secret santa 2015 letter to santa
Dear Santa,
I honestly like pretty much anything, but I especially like rarepairs so if you could write me a story with Kai/Kris, or Lay/Sehun, or D.O./Lay or Kris/Sehun or Kai/Tao or Lay/Tao or Baekhyun/Luhan or something like that, it would be fabulous. I also love crossovers! (het/slash/femslash/poly/non-romantic anything goes) but if you can't write those, I'll read any pairing.
Okay so probably my dream dream DREAMEST OF DREAMS fics is Suho/male oc (or pick a European celebrity I honestly don't care much hmm Skandar Keynes is really hot or William Moseley IF YOU WROTE SUHO/WILLIAM MOSELEY I WOULD HONESTLY DIE OF HAPPINESS - FEEL FREE TO WRITE WHATEVER PLOT YOU WANT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THIS ONE) where it's kind of like Goong except not really at all, where the oc is the crown prince of the British royal family in the middle future where gay marriage is pretty much accepted but the royal families lag behind the times (coughs at divorce), and the oc has some kind of scandal so they think it'll be good for the public image if he marriage a guy. A foreign one at that. So yeah, I could wax eloquent on that for days but that would really limit the prompt. Okay yeah I'll cool down now.
Apart from that I love crossovers like you wouldn't believe literally any crossover. Any. Kpop Jpop Cpop actors celebrities fictional characters manga anime yup yup yup. Okay I'll be honest I don't really care for fem!exo or fem!anybody for that matter, when YOU COULD BE WRITING GIRLS. All the wonderful girls. Please add girls. *puppy dog eyes*
I really like things like space au and just regular modern day au, also uni and domestic and stuff like that. I love mama/exodus au. I love magical realism. I love regular fiction but weaving in mama power hints and stuff like that. I love weird nonlinear experimental stories. You can write me a poem. I love shortfics. I love longfics. Don't stress either way. You can write happy mpreg fluff or preg fluff or fpreg fluff (but since I'd prefer no fem!exo I guess that would have to be a side-pairing oops) and I would be overjoyed, you could also write tragedy or hanahaki disease or terminal cancer or super messed up psychological horror/suspense/thriller/murder/psychos and I would love that too. I love songfics and poetry and images and multimedia. If you add a playlist to listen to (preferably apple music or 8tracks I'm sorry because I can't listen to YouTube and read at the same time - the fallacies of apple devices) or like little links with pictures or like make every time the word tree appears green - I love that kind of thing. But you don't have to! I love straight prose too. I love bits of foreign languages - if you want to include Spanish French or Germany (maybe Portuguese) especially, I'm fluent in those. Or any other language is great too! Basically I love taking Chinese/Korean people and putting them in aus where they like grew up in Sweden or something. Epic. Or you can just space au everything and I will be 100% down with that. I grew up on 70s sci-fi: hard sci-fic soft sci-fi. I will read any kink. ANY. I will read genfic. I don't discriminate and I LOVE genfic I'm not lying.
I honestly don't know what to say for prompt suggestions due to the breadth of this, basically go over to my prompt tumblr inkypandas and feel free to write anything from there but you can literally write your own favourite au you've been saving on the backburner. I will like that 100% too.
And remember, please warn thoroughly.
The few things I don't like: gendercasting. If someone wants to be a stay at home parent they can do that if they want to, I'm 100% up for that but don't assume. No comments that buy in to that idea of expected gender norms (or status norms if you're writing abo) unless you're criticizing it. I'm sorry in advance. The same applies to any other thing like this (people in certain professions etc.). I especially don't like it when people change their last names when they get married, especially if it's a South Korea-inspired/based/whatever au. Koreans don't do that anyway. So while I'm all for people doing whatever they want, I'd rather not read about it in a gift fic, if it's all the same. Apologies. Also, this applies to if it's m/m or f/m or f/f or poly or anything. Thanks!
I don't like fem!anybody very much, not because I don't like it on principle but I'd rather read about actual female characters because they are awesome too. But if you want to make male (or female) characters trans or non-binary or anything along that spectrum that is 100% okay. Thank you!
I don't like the whole yaoi seme/uke thing. I don't like it if people are excessively submissive. People can top or bottom or switch or anything they like but I don't want to read baby princess Lu Han or whiny infantized Tao or Yaoi super-dom Kris or any of those fandom tropes. No. As for dynamics, please be clear (to yourself!) if you're just writing a more vanilla relationship or if you're going into more bdsm-type dynamics. I am 100% okay with BDSM dynamics, both dom/sub and daddy or mommy/little, but please do your research and think about aftercare (AFTERCARE I COULD READ ABOUT ONLY AFTERCARE FOR YEARS) also careful safety procedures, safe words and only ever completely mutual relationships (unless it's a backstory of a bad history which is when it's okay to pull out the trauma) with well delineated needs and expectations and scenes and limits and that kind of thing. Yes. Also it does NOT need to be sexual I also LOVE platonic bsdm yes thank you.
I don't like romanticized abuse. I am 100% okay with reading difficult topics, and you can definitely write about rape etc., but in that case it has to be portrayed in a responsible way. If person a has sex with person b while they're in heat and they didn't have prior consent, that is rape. Please approach it as such. I want to see massive guilt and/or appropriate recrimination as well as the victim dealing with it thank you. The same applies to any kind of abuse. You can definitely write it, but deal with it in the story line. Process it. Or if you're not processing it, make sure it makes sense. If your story is about person a who is a psychopath and goes around hurting and killing people, that's fine! Just don't make it romantic. Make it what it is.
DO NOT BASH ANY MEMBERS OR EX MEMBERS OF ANY GROUP THANK YOU. This doesn't mean that people can't be "bad", this means that if you for example want to write a story about alcoholic!person a abusing person b, I respectfully request that you take the time to explore person a's motives, their background, their private pains and the things they think and feel and regret while the story is unfolding. As for writing psychopaths/murders, great. I love that stuff. Just keep in mind that if someone is abusing someone I don't want it to turn into some kind of happy ending for that relationship. (see the above point)
And I think that's about it! If you have any questions you can contact the mods who'll be able to ask me.
