Prompts:

1. Hanahaki disease: hanahaki byou(花吐き病)
A (optional: fatal) disease of the human system where a person coughs up flowers due to severe one-sided love. (Optional: Its infection route is through contact with vomited flowers.) In order to fully recover from the disease, the person’s one-sided-love must be returned. (Optional: there could be an invasive surgery option to remove the infestation, but this would remove all feelings towards that person irrevocably.)

2. Zola Jesus - skin song lyrics
open interpretation, maybe a Romeo and Juliet theme like this or this

3. When person a is young (a uni student or something) he meets an older person (person b) and falls in love. They have a beautiful relationship until the older person suddenly dies (they were quite old but not THAT old). Although his friends tell him to move on, person a can never quite get over it, though he's not bitter, he just lives a quiet but happy life with friends and his work and it's enough until he meets another uni student, much like himself in the past, and finds himself falling in love...but this time he's scared, remembering what happened last time.

4. NELL the day before mv lyrics
Prompt idea: Person a is a documentary filmmaker tasked to film person b's life story.
Note: please take the mv/song/lyrics/book sections, discard which ever parts you don't want and run with the rest. Feel free to disregard the prompt idea above as well
Note: in the mv a clear liquid is poured into the coffee. Just to clarify, most coffee shops in Korea provide simple syrup as sweetener. This is NOT necessarily poison.
Note: Lee Minki's character in the mv is reading a book: John Berger's And Our Faces, My Heart, Brief as Photos (1984). The camera zooms up on the first parts of section 1 (below), the other sections are other pages that show up briefly in the mv.

# section 1

3. Leaving

pain
cannot

endure long enough

tracks vanish
under snow
the white embrace
of leaving

I have tried to write the truth on trains

without an ear
the tongue takes fright
clings to a single word
the train is crossing a bridge
black ice collects
on each letter
SAVA
my river

# section 2

We woke up in a friend's house where there was a piano. We had slept on a mattress on the floor. The piano was in the room below. The two children of the house were playing an exercise before going to school. An exercise for four hands. Sometimes they stumbled and began the phrase again. If ours were the eighteenth century, when questions opened idly like doors onto gardens, I might ask you: Do you remember? But in our century, when only evil and indifference are limitless, we cannot afford unnecessary questions; rather, we need to defend ourselves with whatever there is to hand of certainty. I know that you remember. The two children were playing lightly and dutifully and the notes filled the house. You were lying with your back to me, your breasts in my hands. Neither of us stirred. The music commanded a little listening and we listened—just as one can gaze at the wallpaper in a hotel room without really looking at it. Waking up to that music played lightly and dutifully by the children before going to school was the nearest we shall ever be, my heart, to waking up at home before we left.

# section 3

A VIEW OF DELFT

In that town,
across the water
where all has been seen
and the bricks are cherished like sparrows,
in that town like a letter from home
read again and again in a port,
in that town with its library of tiles
and its addresses recalled by Johannes Vermeer
who died in debt,
in that town across the water
where the dead take the census
and there are no vacant rooms
for his gaze occupies them all,
where the sky is waiting
to have news of a birth,
in that town which pours from the eyes
of those who left it,
there
between two chimes of the morning,
when fish are sold in the square
and the maps on the walls
show the depth of the sea,
in that town
I am preparing for your arrival.

# section 4

What reconciles me to my own death more than anything else is the image of a place: a place where your bones and mine are buried, thrown, uncovered, together. They are strewn there pell-mell. One of your ribs leans against my skull. A metacarpal of my left hand lies inside your pelvis. (Against my broken ribs your breast like a flower.) The hundred bones of our feet are scattered like gravel. It is strange that this image of our proximity, concerning as it does mere phosphate of calcium, should bestow a sense of peace. Yet it does. With you I can imagine a place where to be phosphate of calcium is enough.

5. Nolita knights - distance kills mv lyrics
Person a goes away to university in another city/country while person b is still working or studying in the city where they originally met. Person a is worried their long distance relationship is falling apart.

6. any au Matthew Good - Garden of Knives
My love screams, yeah I like the second half
All in between honeycomb legs I'll break your back
The more that you want it the more that you take it
The more that you want it the more that you break it

No matter where we are
I'll let you know
No matter where the sun strikes us
Knives will grow

Hear them horses come to mow the road
Feel the air burning like your lungs could just explode
The more that you want it the more that you take it
The more that you want it the more that you break it

No matter where we are
I'll let you know
No matter where the sun strikes us
Knives will grow

open interpretation. Maybe smut-related? or you can go in a darker direction.

7. Youth!au {dúné - dry lips lyrics }
Open interpretation or bored teens spinning out of control, getting involved in things (I'm picturing politics) that they don't fully understand the gravity of.

8. Peeling an Orange

Between you and a bowl of oranges I lie nude
Reading The World’s Illusion through my tears.
You reach across me hungry for global fruit,
Your bare arm hard, furry and warm on my belly.
Your fingers pry the skin of a naval orange
Releasing tiny explosions of spicy oil.
You place peeled disks of gold in a bizarre pattern
On my white body. Rearranging, you bend and bite
The disks to release further their eager scent.
I say “Stop, you’re tickling,” my eyes still on the page.
Aromas of groves arise. Through green leaves
Glow the lofty snows. Through red lips
Your white teeth close on a translucent segment.
Your face over my face eclipses The World’s Illusion.
Pulp and juice pass into my mouth from your mouth.
We laugh against each other’s lips. I hold my book
Behind your head, still reading, still weeping a little.
You say “Read on, I’m just an illusion,” rolling
Over upon me soothingly, gently unmoving,
Smiling greenly through long lashes. And soon
I say “Don’t stop. Don’t disillusion me.”
Snows melt. The mountain silvers into many a stream.
The oranges are golden worlds in a dark dream.

9. photo caption: London
open interpretation. it's Sehun's ig photo when he was in London so you could do something canon with that if you like. or something along the lines of Goong except with the British royal family. (first gay marriage, foreign marriage, politics, etc.) go wild. Maybe even suho/oc (male prince please), suho-centric. Happy ending (but mid-angst) preferred.

10. photo caption: Friedrich Wilhelms-Hütte Stahlguss GmbH #Ghosttown #18
Open interpretation, maybe horror related. Lisey's Story by Stephen King, the brother locked in the basement, chain rattling as he walks a circle. or Dr. Sleep or black house

11. inspired by the book The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. person a is a recent orphan coming to live with uncle and person b (cousin or whatever), and person c is a local boy/girl. feel free to set this however you like (vaguely victorian or modern or future or city or whatever, but I would prefer not Korea. keep the vaguely English atmosphere of the book). you can decide to have person b be a cousin or change that (in some settings relationships with cousins are historically acceptable; it's up to you). BONUS: happy poly ending would be awesome, but you can end however you like (genfic is fine!) but I'd prefer to not have it end with a binary relationship.

12. TRIGGER WARNINGS!!! inspired by the documentary and interview and mv for Hozier's take me to church. Basically explore the nature of person a finding out his sexuality in the context of a society which doesn't accept this. OR person a can be a straight person coming to terms with friends (person b, c, etc.) who are homosexual (or anywhere along the spectrum) and learning to support and love and advocate for them. Feel free to set this wherever, make it present or past or space au, anything you like.

13. pushing daisies!au (you don't have to follow the show at all - feel free to make up your own thing entirely) person a is a piemaker (or any kind of baker etc.) who can bring things back to life with one touch. feel free to mix this with mama powers if you like.

14. TRIGGER WARNING nothing but thieves - graveyard whistling mv and song open interpretation dealing with suicide and getting back on one's feet

15. milk & bone - New York song and mv - open interpretation BONUS: infidelity.

16. ex machina trailer information - there's a new project with person a scientist, person b employee act as a test interactor, and person c the A.I. but what defines human consciousness? what is real? what is false? note: use as much or little of the au as you want; feel free to take it in a horror or romance or sci-fi direction.

17. total eclipse!au. the relationship of a young genius poet and an older poem who takes him under his wing, even though he's already married. bonus: infidelity, angst. OPTION: set a story in modern time and draw parallel references to the story of verlaine and rimbaud, have the relationship between two characters and differentiate it from the past either with reincarnation or just simple interweaving. Or set it in the future and get as crazy as you like.

18. inspired by the life of García Lorca. person a is a brilliant film maker in a group of artistic friends, but affections are not always returned and love can lead to betrayal. bonus: character death. notes: feel free to set this however, wherever, any time, space au, whatever.

19. say lou lou - fool of me ft. chet faker - person a (girls singing): You never cried // I'd say love let me wet your eyes // Have some tears of mine // Maybe I // Should have learned // That the soul won't burn // If you don't hurt inside // You feel no pain // That's ok // I got plenty left // Stored up in my chest // I'll top you up // With a taste // That I've not forgot // .... // You made a fool of me // Lover // You made a fool of me // How funny...

optional: sci-fi/robot element Had a dream that I could teach you how to love // My machine // I learn to reach inside your ribcage // Flick a switch and you engage // See the life burst across your face feel free to change whatever

20. open interpretation:
Home Wrecker
WRITTEN BY OCEAN VUONG
And this is how we danced: with our mothers’
white dresses spilling from our feet, late August
turning our hands dark red. And this is how we loved:
a fifth of vodka and an afternoon in the attic, your fingers
sweeping though my hair—my hair a wildfire.
We covered our ears and your father’s tantrum turned
into heartbeats. When our lips touched the day closed
into a coffin. In the museum of the heart
there are two headless people building a burning house.
There was always the shotgun above the fireplace.
Always another hour to kill—only to beg some god
to give it back. If not the attic, the car. If not the car,
the dream. If not the boy, his clothes. If not alive,
put down the phone. Because the year is a distance
we’ve traveled in circles. Which is to say: this is how
we danced: alone in sleeping bodies. Which is to say:
This is how we loved: a knife on the tongue turning
into a tongue.

21. warning character death - possession/soul!au - after person a's sister/brother is killed, they start to be taken over by the dead person's spirit in exacting revenge. feel free to change everything/anything and you don't have to watch the drama - getting inspired by the synopsis is fine!

22. warning character death - Paper Valentine by Brenna Yovanoff!au - it's a hot summer and person a's best friend has just died. there's a serial killer on the roam. feel free to change everything/anything and you don't have to read the book - getting inspired by the synopsis is fine!

23. inspired by the song/video for Crack the Shutters by Snow Patrol.
Open interpretation or something about the tiny parts of a relationship.

24. Historical au inspired by this photo art of Fan Bingbing
You can make it reincarnation or plain historical or change it into space au or do whatever you like! (Whispers I love space au)

25. Warning: mpreg
Carte blanche here: any mpreg - fill in with an au and plot to your liking, whether domestic fluff, single parent, high school pregnancy, drama, angst, etc. person b can be the father or he can meet an already pregnant person a. (Please don't demonize the biological parent.) or you can keep it genfic. no relationship necessary! You can also conversely just go for domestic couple mpreg or ot3 mpreg anything!
Possible ideas: person a and person b (and person c etc. optional) are happily married (or just together), getting ready for a new baby. // arranged marriage au // person a sleeps with a crush after a high school party and gets unexpectedly pregnant // person a gets pregnant and then his boyfriend leaves him/dies somehow and he meets person b // person a always wanted to be a parent and finally decides to go for artificial insemination because he's tired of waiting for the right guy // etc.

26. Warning: bdsm
Person a is spinning out of control in his life when he stumbles across a blog post: how to find out if you're a submissive. Curious, he investigates and decides to try a support group. Eventually he meets person b, a trained dominant. Person a still isn't entirely invested but when he faces a person crisis that throws him into a downward tailspin of self-destructive behaviour, he calls person b for help.
NOTE: PLEASE USE CORRECT BDSM TERMINOLOGY AND DYNAMICS AND METHODS basically, I'd like a platonic bdsm relationship that can lead to a sexual relationship or not, up to you. this is, fundamentally, not about sexual diversions (though sex can be a part of it) but about dynamics and healthy headspace. Scenes are thoroughly negotiated and consensual and have different desired outcomes (pleasure or punishment etc.: punishment is DESIRED by the submissive to allow them to reach a healthy headspace) and there is proper aftercare etc.
I know there's a lot of conflicting stuff on the internet but what I'd like to see is more like: the relationship in the film Secretary, the dynamic in this fic (I know it's alt-reality but the dynamic and practises still hold). This blog is also a useful reference.
